Real Estate Committee confidence in hiring them for the job. Their
experience in concrete tilt-wall construction was another factor along
with the thoroughness with which they provided value engineering
options.

Huffman served as the project manager for about one year and
three months. As with any project of this magnitude, constructing
a unique building in look and function, there were many surprises
and complications to be dealt with. Huffman worked closely with
members of the BCMS Real Estate Committee, including Dr. Swift,
Steve Fitzer, Melody Newsom, Al Ortiz, Mark Lachenauer, and later
Alice Sutton. The result was a building that was built on-time and
within 3 percent of the contract budget.
