UT Health San Antonio President’s Gala

The UT Health San Antonio President’s Gala was held on Sept. 23 and raised more than $1 million for heart disease research. Joe
Gorder, chairman and president of Valero Energy Corp., and his wife Lacie were honored with the naming of endowments in their name.
Also, Dr. Steven Bailey, chief of the Janey and Dolph Briscoe Division of Cardiology at UT Health, was honored with a Presidential
Commendation.

ored for his many contributions to improving cardiovascular procedures,
including new, less invasive treatments for valvular heart disease.

pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. S. Adil Husain (right), from UT Health
San Antonio.
