BCMS is seeking
physician members who would like to participate in committees for 2020. Your
leadership and participation is fundamental for the
well-being of organized medicine and the Bexar County Medical Society. Your
involvement makes our committees strong and vibrant! The stronger the
participation, the more BCMS can accomplish. You can help make a difference
to the practice of medicine. A few examples of BCMS committees are: Emergency
Preparedness, Legislative and Socioeconomics, Public Health, Women in

In Bexar
County, immunization coverage rates remain high but, with recent outbreaks
and setbacks in coverage rates for some key vaccine preventable diseases,
Bexar County must continue to increase its vaccination rates. The Texas
Vaccines for Children (TVFC) program presents an opportunity for physicians
in Bexar County to increase vaccination rates by eliminating barriers to
offering and obtaining vaccines.

is proud to announce that Yvonne Nino has been promoted to Controller
of BCMS as of November 1. Yvonne has been with BCMS for four years working
with our former Controller. She will manage the day-to-day operations of the
Finance Department including budgets, audits, payroll, accounts payable/receivable,
etc. Yvonne
has 29 years of experience as a Controller with a firm here in San Antonio. |
