COMMITTEE CONTINuES
wORk TO pREpaRE FOR
LEgISLaTIVE SESSION
The BCMS Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee
held their monthly meeting on Aug. 24 to continue work-
ing on plans for the upcoming legislative session, which
kicks off in January 2017. Among the topics discussed
were the committee goals and strategic plan for the com-
mittee going forward. Some of the highlights included:
having continued visits with each of our state representa-
tives and state senators to discuss issues of importance to
medicine and establishing key physician contacts by leg-
islative district to lead discussions with our elected officials
as opportunities arise and in preparation for the First Tues-
days visits to the Capitol.
