       10TH ANNUAL BORDER HEALTH CONFERENCE HELD IN EL PASO

  The TMA Border Health Caucus, of which BCMS is a member, held its 10th annual meeting Aug. 5-6 in El Paso. This year’s
conference was led by Congressman Beto O’Rourke (Texas District 16), and Manuel Acosta, MD, of El Paso, and Luis Benavides,
MD, of Laredo, chair and co-chair, respectively, of the Border Health Caucus.

  Panel discussion topics included: healthy eating and active living; emerging diseases; healthcare literacy; GME; physicians and
new technology; coordination of care; ACA and a post SGR discussion with Congressman Michael Burgess.
