Member Services

Bexar County Medical Society is working diligently to serve our members’ needs. In addition to providing outstanding advocacy, professional support, and leadership development, BCMS is focusing on the physician as a whole person and will continue to add new services to meet the personal and professional issues faced by physicians.

As always, we welcome your participation and suggestions to help our Society enrich the lives of all physicians in Bexar County. The Bexar County Medical Society was established simultaneously with the Texas Medical Association, in 1853. It is the oldest county medical society in Texas. As a pioneer of organized medicine, it has played a vital role in the ongoing development of San Antonio's medical community. Over the years, it has endeavored to serve the needs of its membership while addressing what is in the best interests of physicians' patients and the general public. It has become the eighth-largest county medical society in the nation, serving 6000+ members. The Bexar County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association take proactive roles in representing physicians and patients.
