Congress Introduces Stopgap Bill to Halt Impending Medicare Pay Cut
While Congress considers a comprehensive Medicare payment fix, the new bipartisan Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2024 would halt the current proposed cut and provide a modest payment increase over the next year. Learn more.

UT Health San Antonio Awarded $9.9 Million in County ARPA Funds
Bexar County awarded UT Health San Antonio three grants totaling $9.9 million in federal coronavirus relief bill funding to improve access to health care and create a more equitable and resilient community. Money from the legislation, known as the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), locally will support further recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in addressing addiction from substance use, behavioral health, and long COVID. Nasal Swab May Help Physicians Predict Severity of COVID-19 Infection
A new study suggests a simple nasal swab may help doctors predict the severity of a COVID infection. Over 70% of people with mild or moderate COVID develop certain antibodies in their nasal cavities that are linked to fewer symptoms, better immune response, and faster recovery. Continue reading.
