Guarding Against the Silent Threat of Oropharyngeal Cancer
In the U.S., nearly 47,000 cases of cancer are found in body parts where HPV infection is also discovered. A recent study revealed that oropharyngeal cancer now has the highest rate of any cancer associated with HPV. Due to the cancer's silent progression, health providers state early HPV vaccination is a priority. Learn more.

Two Possible Bird Flu Vaccines Available Within Weeks
The U.S. has two vaccines ready should the strain of Bird Flu circulating in dairy cows begin spreading easily to people. If needed, federal health officials can begin shipping doses nationally within weeks. While the Bird Flu does not currently transmit easily between people, global health officials remain concerned due to its high mortality rate. Learn more.

Fraud Alert- DEA Phone Calls
The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning physicians about fraudulent calls from individuals claiming to be DEA agents. These "agents" try to extort money or personal information from physicians. The DEA will never call medical professionals demanding money or asking for personal information. Learn more.

COVID-19 Hospitalizations Hit a Record Low
According to data from the CDC, weekly COVID-19 hospitalizations have hit their lowest level ever reported since the pandemic began. There were 5,615 COVID hospitalizations in the most recent week data that is available. In comparison, there were over 150,000 weekly admissions at the peak of the Omicron variant in 2022.
