CMS Announces Flexibilities Following Cyberattack
Federal officials have announced several flexibilities that aim to help physicians in the wake of the cyberattack against Change Healthcare. Practices may now request advanced Medicare payments in order to sustain practice operations during this disruption. Read more. 

TMB Continues to Clarify New Fingerprinting Requirement 
The requirement has sparked confusion and concern among Texas physicians. TMA is working closely with the Texas Medical Board (TMB) to help ensure physician licenses are renewed on time as the agency takes steps to clarify the process. Most recently, TMB explained how to satisfy the requirement early. Read more.

US On Track To Surpass Last Year's Total Measles Cases, CDC Says
The Hill (3/8, Choi) reported, “The rash of measles outbreaks around the country has sparked concerns that the U.S. risks losing its status as a country where the disease has been eliminated," and is on track to surpass total cases detected in 2023. Read more.

Congress Mitigates 2024 Medicare Physician Pay Cut
A new federal spending package includes a provision that reduces the cut from 3.4% to 1.68%, but it does little to quell TMA’s ongoing calls for comprehensive Medicare physician payment reform. Read more.
