Tell Capitol Hill: Reform Medicare Payment
As part of AMA's National Advocacy conference, TMA leaders met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill last week on the urgency and necessity of Medicare payment reform. Bolster their efforts by sending your own ready-made message urging your representative to stop the latest pay cut and enact long-term solutions to preserve practice viability and access to care. CDC Tracks New SARS-CoV-2 Variant, BA.2.87.1        
BA.2.87.1, a new variant of the virus that causes COVID-19, was detected in South Africa by the country’s National Institute for Communicable Diseases. CDC is closely tracking this variant because of the large number of mutations when compared to previous variants. Read more.

New Law Prohibits Employer COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates, With Exceptions
The new state law took effect Feb. 6. TMA is monitoring the rulemaking process under way, which is spearheaded by the Texas Workforce Commission with input from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Read more.
