TMB to Start One-Time Fingerprinting Requirements for License Renewals
Starting in February, the Texas Medical Board (TMB) will require physicians who haven’t submitted fingerprints since Jan. 15, 2018 to do so during their next renewal process. The requirement stems in part from a new state law. Read more

Gene-editing Therapy That Could Cure Sickle Cell Disease Is Close to FDA Approval
A breakthrough treatment for sickle cell patients could soon become the first gene-editing treatment to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This treatment takes a patient’s stem cells and edits them to produce more fetal hemoglobin, an abundance of which has been observed to cause red blood cells to not “sickle.” Continue reading
