Volunteers Sought for TMA Councils & Committees
Physicians who serve on the TMA Councils and Committees (C&Cs) help initiate TMA policies and programs that affect the practice of medicine in many ways. It is important for Bexar County to have strong leaders on the C&Cs. Click here for more information on the councils and committees. FDA Approves First-Ever DNA Test to Help Screen for Risk of Opioid Use Disorder
The first-ever DNA test to help determine if someone has a greater risk of developing opioid use disorder was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) this month. The FDA approved the AutoGenomics AvertD test for use among adults who are considering treating acute pain with short-term prescription of opioid pain medicine, such as after a planned surgery. Continue reading
