FDA Recalls More Than 500K COVID-19 Tests From SD Biosensor
The
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recalled more than 500,000
COVID-19 tests over concerns of them being contaminated with bacteria.
The FDA has advised people to throw out recalled tests from SD
Biosensor, Inc., which makes the Pilot COVID-19 At-Home Tests. Some
"500,000 of the recalled tests were distributed to CVS, while about
16,000 were given to Amazon. The FDA and Roche are working together to
determine how many of the contaminated tests were sold to

WHO Says COVID-19 Is No Longer A Global Health Emergency
COVID-19
is no longer a Global Health Emergency (GHE), according to the World
Health Organization (WHO). WHO's International Health Regulations
Emergency Committee discussed the pandemic on Thursday at its 15th
meeting on COVID-19, and WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
concurred that the Public Health Emergency of International Concern, or

DEA Issues Temporary Rule For Telehealth Prescribing Capabilities
The
U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency is extending providers' telehealth
prescribing capabilities beyond the end of the COVID Public Health
Emergency (PHE). The temporary rule, issued on May 9, will allow
providers to prescribe controlled medications through telemedicine
appointments without an in-person consultation until November 11. This
change follows a comment period on proposed rules that would inhibit
prescribing controlled medications without an in-person interaction via
telehealth—a move that was made during the height of the pandemic to
