State Launches $23 Million Substance Use Disorder Prevention Effort
A new $23 million public awareness campaign from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission will focus on "reducing stigma, building community connection and resilience, and changing social norms to prevent substance use."

Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are well tolerated by people with impaired immunity. A new study concludes that the two mRNA-based vaccines produced relatively few side effects in people who are immunocompromised due to cancers, rheumatological, or neurological conditions. Learn more

Although its expiration date has been deferred several times, the federal public health emergency for COVID-19 will eventually end. OSHA Launches COVID-19 Inspection Initiative for Healthcare Employers
With its new inspection initiative, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is taking steps to ensure certain healthcare employers continue to protect workers against COVID-19, even as falling case numbers across the country have prompted many state and local agencies to withdraw mask mandates and other COVID-19 precautions. Mask Use on Public Transportation
At CDC’s recommendation, TSA will extend the security directive Order for mask use on public transportation and transportation hubs for one month, through April 18, 2022. During that time, CDC will work with government agencies to develop a revised policy framework for when, and under what circumstances, masks should be required in on public transportation.
