DOJ-HHS Releases Guidance on Non-Discrimination in Telehealth
Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Justice have issued a Joint Guidance on Accessible Telehealth Services to include Federal protections to ensure accessibility to people with disabilities and limited English proficient persons. Read more

Most people in the U.S. are vaccinated, which provides substantial protection, experts say. Concerns around polio vaccination status continue to grow in light of the high-profile polio case in New York. Find more information here.

Understanding and Addressing COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy in Bexar County
COVID-19 challenged our healthcare systems and unsurprisingly, so did its vaccine. Over 35% of responding physicians had concerns regarding the vaccine. 20% of respondents supported vaccination under FDA full approval. 77% of respondents supported an emergency use authorization (EUA). Data aided county-wide vaccination by identifying regions lacking vaccine providers. Continue reading

Telehealth Extension Bill Advances to U.S. Senate
Signaling strong support to build on the COVID-19-era gains in telemedicine, the U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill that would extend Medicare’s telehealth payment and regulatory flexibilities through the end of 2024, should the public health emergency (PHE) end before then. Physicians Responsible for Checking OIG Exclusion List
One way the Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) protects the health and welfare of people receiving Medicaid is by preventing certain people or businesses from participating as service providers. Medicaid providers are responsible for making sure they don’t employ or contract with someone listed on the state or federal OIG exclusion lists. Read more
