Texas Reports First West Nile Case of
2022
Public health officials have
confirmed the state’s first case of illness caused by West Nile
virus in 2022. Dallas County Health and Human Services reported
that a resident of Dallas County has been diagnosed with West Nile
neuroinvasive disease. The Texas Department of State Health
Services urges people to not give mosquitoes a biting chance by
following these steps to protect themselves
and their families from West Nile and other diseases spread by
mosquitoes.
General Practitioners Report Stress, Burnout,
Anxiety, Depression, and Fear of COVID-19 Throughout Pandemic

“stress, burnout, anxiety, depression and fear of COVID-19 were
reported among general practitioners throughout the pandemic,” according
to a 31-study systematic review. The findings published in the
British Journal of General Practice identified “multiple sources of
stress...including risk, exposures, inadequate amounts of PPE,
information overload and pandemic preparedness.”
COVID Relief Fund Offers Extension for Late Reports
Physicians who received money
from the federal COVID-19 Provider Relief Fund and missed the first
two reporting deadlines now have until April 22 to request to
report late, thanks to an extension by the federal Health Resources
and Services Administration.
