Important Physician News and Deadlines

FDA Cancels Authorization to Treat COVID With Sotrovimab
The monoclonal antibody sotrovimab is no longer authorized to treat COVID-19 in the U.S. following the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) decision to pull its emergency use authorization, due largely to its ineffectiveness against the Omicron BA.2 subvariant. If administered after April 5, it must be reported as a medication error. Here's the latest.

Survey: Addressing Patients' Social Determinants of Health Fuels Physician Burnout
Physicians have long known how social determinants, or drivers, of health impact their patients' lives, fuel disparities, increase care costs, and ultimately influence physicians' quality outcomes and payment. They also have a sizable impact on physicians' mental health, according to part one of The Physicians Foundation's 2022 Survey of America's Physicians. See the results.

Federal Grants Available to Help Expand Opioid Use Disorder Treatment
Federal health authorities have opened up applications for more than $25 million in grants to expand access to medication-assisted treatment and prevent prescription drug misuse. How to apply.

Changing Climate, Pollution and Wildfires Complicate, Lengthen Allergy Season

How to Use the CDC's New COVID Quarantine and Isolation Calculator
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released online calculator to help people determine if they should isolate or quarantine after contracting COVID-19 or being exposed to someone with the virus. Those who are up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines will have different recommendations than those who are not up to date or not vaccinated at all. The tool can be accessed on a desktop or a mobile device.
