Outbreak of Norovirus Linked to Raw Oysters
The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) was notified of ten cases of gastrointestinal illness in Texas and an increase of similar illness from other states among people who consumed raw oysters harvested in Texas. Several clinical specimen 
results in persons who ate affected oysters were positive for norovirus.

While most of the public continue to have confidence in the benefits of childhood vaccines for measles, mumps and rubella, the experience of the COVID-19 pandemic and debates over vaccine requirements and mandates appear to have had an impact on public attitudes towards MMR vaccine requirements for public schools.

Feds Delay Portion of “Good Faith Estimate” Requirements Under Surprise Billing Law
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that “pending future rulemaking,” it will extend enforcement of a requirement that physicians and facilities give uninsured or self-pay patients a good faith estimate (GFE) of what a service might cost when scheduling that service, even if multiple entities are involved. Read more

Metro Health Investigates Tuberculosis Case at Northside ISD High Schools
The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (Metro Health) has confirmed a tuberculosis (TB) case with a common link involving Clark High School and Brandeis High School in the Northside Independent School District (NISD). Find out more information here.
