New COVID-19 Provider Funding
The application is now open for both Provider Relief Fund (PRF) Phase 4 and American Rescue Plan (ARP) Rural payments. PRF Phase 4 is open to a broad range of providers who have experienced changes in operating revenues and expenses. The application will close on October 26, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Apply now. 

Metro Health to Provide $100 H-E-B Gift Cards Starting September 24th in Efforts to Increase COVID-19 Vaccinations
Beginning September 24, Metro Health will offer a $100 H-E-B gift card to increase the number of COVID-19 vaccinations among San Antonio and Bexar County residents to become fully vaccinated. See who is eligible and vaccine pop-up clinics here.

COVID-19 Vaccination for Pregnant People to Prevent Serious Illness, Deaths, and Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes from COVID-19
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends urgent action to increase COVID-19 vaccination among people who are pregnant, recently pregnant (including those who are lactating), who are trying to become pregnant now, or who might become pregnant in the future. CDC strongly recommends COVID-19 vaccination either before or during pregnancy because the benefits of vaccination outweigh known or potential risks.

Open Enrollment for Marketplace Plans Extended by One Month
The Biden-Harris administration has announced a 30-day extension of the upcoming open enrollment period for federal marketplace health plans available through HealthCare.gov, to Jan. 15, 2022. It's also expanding assistance for low-income patients wishing to enroll. Read more.

Impending Medicare Pay Cuts Total Nearly 10%
With a pandemic making this moment one of the worst times to financially hit physician practices still reeling from shutdowns last year, TMA, the American Medical Association, and others are urging Congress to stop impending payment cuts that could devastate access to care for the nation's elderly and disabled. The Health Hazards Facing ‘Triple Users’ of Marijuana, Cigarettes, and E-Cigarettes
new study reports that a sizable group of adolescents are using e-cigarettes, cigarettes, and marijuana at the same time. Researchers say those younger people are at greater psychosocial and health risk than exclusive users of cannabis, tobacco, or e-cigarettes. Learn how.
