Talk to Patients About: Breakthrough Infections
COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective at giving people immunity against the disease. But as with all other vaccines, that immunity is not 100% for everyone who receives them. TMA Defeats Bills to Ban Vaccine Mandates
Thanks to physician-led grassroots advocacy, TMA beat back bills that aimed to codify Gov. Greg Abbott’s recent executive order banning vaccine mandates. Those bills had stalled when the Texas Legislature adjourned from its third special session of the year on Oct. 19. Read more.

Federal Bill Would Extend Medicaid for New Moms and Kids
TMA has signed onto a letter urging preservation of two provisions that would maintain coverage for new mothers and children for 12 months. Read more.

Payer Flexibilities Continue With COVID Emergency Extension
The U.S. Department of Health and Services has extended the federal COVID-19 public health emergency until Jan. 16, 2022, meaning many of the waivers that public and private payers instituted remain in place, including Medicare telemedicine flexibilities. Find out more.
