Novavax vaccine is highly protective against COVID-19 in Phase 3 results
Biotechnology company Novavax released Phase 3 clinical trial results from 119 sites in the U.S. and Mexico this morning (June 14). UT Health San Antonio collaborated with University Health as part of the international COVID-19 Prevention Network and enrolled 176 Novavax clinical trial participants in San Antonio for the Phase 3 study, which is called PREVENT-19. Give Parents the Facts on Adolescents and the Pfizer Vaccine With This TMA Flyer
Now that the Food and Drug Administration approved Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine for adolescents, you’re likely fielding questions from parents about the importance and safety of administering the vaccine to their kids. That’s why the Texas Medical Association’s Outpatient Workgroup created a flyer with important, to-the-point information about the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for adolescents that you can distribute to parents, or post in your office. HHSC Launches Behavioral Health Training for Families
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has launched a virtual training series to educate families on behavioral health conditions. Developed in conjunction with UT Health San Antonio, the free series contains half-hour interactive learning modules on depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, aging, and more.  

The Delta variant is spreading. What does it mean for the US?
Scientists in the United States are anxiously watching the Delta variant of Covid-19, as it spreads through an unevenly vaccinated American public and an economy that is rapidly reopening. The Delta variant, first identified as B.1.617.2 in India, is believed to be more transmissible than both the original strain of Covid-19 and the Alpha strain, first identified in the United Kingdom.
