Texas Sees Rebound In Non-COVID-19 Respiratory Illnesses After Pandemic Rules Relaxed
HealthDay reports, “After Texas relaxed COVID-19 restrictions, other respiratory illnesses  such as colds, bronchitis and pneumonia made rapid rebounds.” Pathologists from Houston Methodist Hospital found that the rhinovirus and enterovirus infections that can trigger these illnesses started rebounding in the fall of last year after Texas eased capacity limits in bars and restaurants.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has relaxed some of its recommendations on masking, it might be difficult to keep track of the current state of face coverings and how it affects your practice. Get Paid for COVID-19 Vaccination Costs Not Covered by Insurance
Since physicians cannot bill patients for COVID-19 vaccine administration, a new federal program aims to fill in the gaps by covering the outstanding costs not covered by health insurance plans. The Department of Health and Human Services launched the COVID-19 Coverage Assistance Fund, which will pay physicians and other vaccine administrators at the new higher Medicare rates announced in March. FDA Extends J&J COVID-19 Vaccine Shelf Life
As of June 10, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) authorized an extension of the shelf life for the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine from 3 months to 4.5 months. The decision is based on data from the manufacture’s ongoing stability assessment studies. The vaccine is stable for at least 4.5 months when refrigerated at temperatures of 36°-46° Fahrenheit (2°-8° Celsius).
