Update on Myocarditis and
Pericarditis Occurring After mRNA COVID-19 Vaccination
On June 23, 2021, the CDC’s Advisory Committee on
Immunization Practices (ACIP) held a meeting to review data on
myocarditis and pericarditis occurring after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination.
The conclusion from this nearly day-long meeting was that the
benefits of vaccination clearly outweigh the risks in every age
group. The CDC continues to recommend vaccination for ages 12 years
and older.
As with any adverse events, please report cases of
myocarditis and pericarditis following COVID-19 mRNA vaccination to
the Vaccine

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, the
Texas Department of State Health Services, and the Minnesota
Department of Health, with assistance from the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC), are investigating three cases of
Burkholderia pseudomallei (melioidosis) infections. View full advisory.

Emergency Telemedicine Pain Script Waiver
The Texas Medical Board once again extended its
emergency waiver permitting telemedicine refills of certain
controlled substance prescriptions for pain patients, this time through July 31. Read More
