Do You or Your Staff Still Need the COVID-19 Vaccine?
Physicians: Do you or your staff still need the first dose of COVID-19 vaccinations? Have each medical staff person in your practice that still needs the first dose vaccination complete this form. Please double check the spelling of the email address and the accuracy of the phone number! This is NOT for your patients or the public!

BCMS Recommends Following CDC Guidelines
The Bexar County Medical Society continues to stress the importance of wearing masks, practicing social distancing, washing hands frequently, and receiving a vaccine when eligible as the most effective ways to stop the spread of COVID-19. 

BCMS COVID-19 Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Licensed Medical Professionals and others are needed for the Mass Vaccination Clinics being held at the Alamo Dome and Mobile Vaccination Clinic. All vaccinators/drawers must register on the Texas Disaster Volunteer Registry (TDVR) with the Alamo Area Medical Reserve Corps (MRC).

Virtual First Tuesdays at the Capitol
Join TMA at noon on the first Tuesday of the month (April and May 2021) for a virtual legislative update and trip to the Capitol. TMA’s lobby team will outline issues important to medicine and actions you can take now to make a difference. Registration is FREE.

State Opens COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility to All Texans
All Texas adults will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine starting March 29, the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) said today. Practices should continue to prioritize patients who are 80 and older “whether or not they have an appointment, by immediately moving them to the front of the line,” DSHS also said. Did You Subscribe to UHC’s Premium Payment Program? Check By March 31
TMA reminds practices that now is a good time to determine whether you are enrolled in UnitedHealthcare’s Optum Pay Premium program, which charges a fee for access to certain electronic data. Physicians and practices who wish to opt out of the program should do so by March 31. Read More.

Submit 2020 Data Now to Avoid Medicare Pay Cut
If you participated in Medicare’s Quality Payment Program (QPP) under the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System, the deadline to submit all data through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services QPP portal is March 31. Read More.

All MIPS-Eligible Physicians to Qualify for Hardship Exemption, CMS Says
The deadline for certain practices to submit an extreme and uncontrollable circumstances exception application under the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System is March 31. Read More.
