COVID-19 Testing Update – San Antonio Metro Health Metro Health’s Lab received one CDC 2019-nCoV Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel from CDC on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Read more March 4, the CDC
changed its criteria for
considering persons to test for COVID-19. Due to current testing
capacity limitations in Texas, based on the recommendations by the Texas
Department of State Health Services, local public health departments will
continue using the PUI testing criteria to prioritize testing of persons at
risk of COVID-19. Metro Health now offers these alerts by text. If interested, text DOCALERT to 55000. Hospital Preparedness for COVID-19 The current COVID-19 epidemic looks very much like an early influenza pandemic in many important respects. The World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are calling for hospital administrators and clinicians to begin preparations for a COVID-19 pandemic by providing resources and existing hospital preparedness plans.
