Legislative Update |

June 16
deadline for Gov. Abbott to sign and veto legislation of the 86th
Legislative Session has now passed Since the last report in this column, Governor Abbott had a
deadline of June 16 to sign or veto legislation that passed during the 86th
Legislative Session. Many more pieces of legislation were signed by the
midnight deadline on June 16 and the following is an update on those bills of
importance to medicine that have been signed, vetoed or allowed to become law
without the Governor’s signature. Click here to see
list of bills signed into law. Please stay tuned to this column for
more information on results of the 86th regular session. A
complete 86th legislative wrap up will be featured in the August
edition of San Antonio Medicine magazine. For local discussion on this and other
legislative advocacy topics, consider joining the BCMS Legislative and
Socioeconomics Committee by contacting Mary Nava, chief government affairs
officer, at mary.nava@bcms.org. |
