Physicians hard at
work advocating on behalf of medicine during March 7 First Tuesday A big thank you to the following physician and Alliance
members who participated in the Mar. 7 First Tuesday visit at the Capitol: Physicians - Leah Jacobson, MD, BCMS President; Daniel
Deane, MD; John Edwards, MD; Pam Hall, MD; David Henkes, MD; James Humphreys,
MD; Alex Kenton, MD; David Lam, MD; John Menchaca, MD; John Nava, MD; Alliance
members - Lisa DeArmond; Danielle Henkes; Jennifer Lewis and Jennifer
Shepherd. The group visited with legislators and staff of all the
offices of our state representatives and senators from Bexar County.
Among the topics discussed were: surprise billing; vaccine exemptions;
scope of practice; expanded mediation; Medicaid reimbursement, GME and the

whose husband, Paul Kalanithi, MD, wrote the hauntingly beautiful memoir
"When Breath Becomes Air" as a meditation on his life and
approaching death at age 37, speaks at the UT Health San Antonio Holly Auditorium
from noon to 1 p.m.
