Physicians hard at work advocating on behalf of medicine during March 7 First Tuesday

 

A big thank you to the following physician and Alliance members who participated in the Mar. 7 First Tuesday visit at the Capitol:

The group visited with legislators and staff of all the offices of our state representatives and senators from Bexar County.  Among the topics discussed were:  surprise billing; vaccine exemptions; scope of practice; expanded mediation; Medicaid reimbursement, GME and the prescription drug monitoring program.  For more information on the 2017 TMA Legislative Priorities, click here

This event benefits the BCMS Women in Medicine Committee. Attendees will pay for their own drinks and meals and 15 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the committee by the Lion and Rose Restaurant.

Lucy Kalanithi, MD, whose husband, Paul Kalanithi, MD, wrote the hauntingly beautiful memoir "When Breath Becomes Air" as a meditation on his life and approaching death at age 37, speaks at the UT Health San Antonio Holly Auditorium from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 23.
