New City Council honored during Chamber reception
           

On June 22, the San Antonio Chamber and Northside Chamber hosted a reception honoring the new Mayor and City Council members.  June 22 also marked the date of the first City Council meeting of this group with Mayor Ron Nirenberg presiding. 

In attendance at the Chamber reception were (standing l-r):  Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales (District 5); Councilwoman Rebecca Viagran (District 3); Councilman Rey Saldana (District 4); Councilman Cruz Shaw (District 2); Councilman Roberto Trevino (District 1); Mayor Ron Nirenberg; Councilman Greg Brockhouse (District 6); Councilwoman Ana Sandoval (District 7); Councilman John Courage (District 9) and Councilman Clayton Perry (District 10).  Unable to attend the event due to a previous commitment was Councilman Manny Pelaez (District 8).

Medical Office Space Available

 

A new medical office building project that is about to break ground in Boerne will be anchored by an ambulatory surgery center and an imaging center.
This project is being developed by a group of San Antonio physicians and is about 75% pre-leased, but there is about 13,000 SF available out of an original 54,000 SF.

Drug Misuse Prevention Summit

 

 The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is conducting regional Town Halls to discuss suggested best practices and solutions to prevent prescription drug misuse. The Town Halls will be two to three hours in length. HHSC and local community representatives will make remarks and then ask for public comments and suggestions.
