LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
First Tuesdays Grab your white lab coats and get up to Austin because it is Time to Lobby!!! The 85^th Texas Legislature is in session so mark your calendars now and make plans to join us for the First Tuesdays visits to the Capitol on Feb. 7, March 7, April 4 and May 2, 2017.  BCMS teams are forming now.  If you are interested in participating with your colleagues or if you have a personal relationship with any of our elected officials from Bexar County, then we want to hear from you!  Come join us to advocate on behalf of medicine’s issues! Medical Management of CBRNE Events Participants completing this program will be able to properly perform patient triage, decontamination, treatment, and transportation in the event of exposure to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) weapons. MedDropSA
San Antonio Water System’s 24^th MedDropSA event  on Jan. 21 resulted in 3,232 lbs. collected, with 81 boxes used. The next HHW (household hazardous waste) mobile event is scheduled for Brooks City Base on May 20, 2017 at 8261 Boyle Rd.  The number of vehicles participating in the event: Customers who had only HHW items: 109 Customers who had only Medicines/MedDropSA: 625 Customers who had Both HHW and Medicines: 201 Grand total – 935
