HEALTH INSURANCE ENROLLMENT
|
Humana
Sign-Up San Antonio Event
WHAT:
If you
don't have health insurance through your employer or through Medicare
or Medicaid, the Jan. 31 deadline to sign up for individual health
insurance in 2016 is quickly approaching.
WHO:
Humana is hosting a free health insurance education and enrollment
event -- Sign-Up San Antonio -- to personally help people understand
their health plan options and provide opportunities to sign up for
qualified individual health plans during the Health Insurance
Marketplace Open Enrollment, which ends on Jan. 31, 2016.
WHY:
Americans who do not sign up for health insurance by the Jan. 31
deadline could be faced with a tax penalty (depending on family
income). For those who do not sign up in 2016, the penalty will rise
to 2.5 percent of income or $695 per adult/$347.50 per child
(whichever is more). Humana will have licensed health insurance
agents available at the free sessions to help people understand their
coverage options, as well as share information on the availability of
government subsidies to help offset the cost of premiums.
WHEN:
Fri., Jan. 29: Noon to 7 p.m.
Sat., Jan. 30: Noon to 7 p.m.
If individuals
are not available to attend an event they can call Humana toll-free
at 800-713-5503 to speak with a licensed health insurance agent or
visit www.HumanaHelps.com
for more information.
WHERE:
Southwest General Hospital
7400 Barlite
Blvd.
San Antonio, TX 78224
Licensed Humana
agents will be onsite at the event to provide free advice and help
people choose a health plan that is best for them and their family.
