NOMINEE

The BCMS Building has been nominated
for the "Project of the Year" award by the
American Subcontractor Association (ASA). The award banquet will
be March 10, 2016 at the Pearl Stable where the winners will be
announced.
The new building is located at 4334
N. Loop 1604 West between Lockhill Selma and Military Highway.

BCMS physicians and Alliance members attend reception in
honor of Texas House Speaker Joe Straus
On Feb. 4, Drs. Alex and Candace Kenton hosted a
reception in their home honoring a great friend of medicine, Texas
House Speaker Joe Straus. Many thanks to all who turned out in
support of Speaker Straus. Among the attendees at the TEXPAC-sponsored

Steven
A. Wartman, M.D., Ph.D., MACP
President
and chief executive officer of the Association of Academic Health
Centers

Dr.
Wartman is president/CEO of the Association of Academic Health
Centers and the Association of Academic Health Centers International.
He will address "The New Physics of Patient Care," an
exploration of the array of forces that are bringing powerful and
significant changes to the academic health center missions of
education, research and patient care.
Prior
to his current position, Dr. Wartman was executive vice president for
academic and health affairs and dean of the School of Medicine at the
University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Wartman
is an internist and sociologist, and a Master of the American College
of Physicians. He has received numerous awards and honorary degrees,
most recently the 2015 Johns Hopkins School of Medicine's
Distinguished Medical Alumnus Award.
