LEGISLATIVE NEWS

Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee continues visits with legislators

On Sept. 28, the BCMS Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee met with Rep. Lyle Larson (House District 122) and Candidate-elect Barbara Gervin-Hawkins (District 120) as part of the committee’s continued efforts to meet with our state elected officials in preparation for the upcoming legislative session which begins in January.  Several issues of importance to medicine were discussed, including insurance issues, such as network adequacy, surprise billing and the Texas Dept. of Insurance.

For local discussion on these and other legislative advocacy topics, consider joining the BCMS Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee by contacting Mary Nava, chief government affairs officer at mary.nava@bcms.org.
