On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the 84th Texas
Legislature began with its usual pomp and circumstance with the
swearing-in of the newly elected or returning state representatives
and senators.
For San Antonio and Bexar County,
there was an added plus: Texas House Speaker Joe Straus was elected
to his fourth term as speaker. Stay tuned to this column for
information and updates from the 84th Session.
