Check
us out on Facebook and Twitter
The Bexar County Medical Society has made the leap into
the cyber realm of social media. The society now has its own Facebook
page and Twitter account, so anyone who is a registered user of these
sites can 'like' or 'follow' our page and check in regularly for new
posts, announcements and links to items of special interest to the
medical community.
For those who are unfamiliar with these social media
tools, you can be reassured that it is a relatively painless and
cost-free process to set up an account. You will be asked for basic
information and a working email address, but you do not have to share
this information online if you do not want to. Facebook allows you to
control the privacy settings on anything that you post so that it can
be viewed by as many or by as few people as you choose. You can even
post things that can only be seen by you. Or you can choose not to
post anything at all.

What
does BCMS do for you?
The Bexar County Medical Society is the oldest county
medical society in Texas with a history dating back to 1853. Today
the society represents more than 4,500 doctors in Bexar and the
surrounding counties and provides a wealth of services including
political advocacy and legal counsel while also serving as a
historical repository and communications outlet.
BCMS Executive Director and CEO Stephen C. Fitzer has
summarized the Value Proposition of BCMS in an excellent article that
can be found here. We
would encourage you to read the article and then check out the latest
issue of San Antonio Medicine magazine to get a more complete
understanding of what BCMS does and the services it provides to its
members on a regular basis.
