As March 31 approaches, TMA and
BCMS have been working very hard to discuss with members of
Congress, in writing, by phone and in person, the importance of
repealing SGR, the sustainable growth rate formula. Many
thanks to all BCMS members who've taken the time to contact their
members of Congress on this issue. At the time of this
writing, HR 4015/S 2000 passed on the House side; but, there's
still quite a bit of work to be done. Over the last three
weeks, BCMS members have met with U.S. Representatives Henry
Cuellar, Joaquin Castro and Pete Gallego. The consensus is
that if there was ever a good time to achieve success on the SGR
front, it is now, with the bicameral support of HR 4015/S
2000.
For an update on the work
accomplished to date, click here.
If you haven't already contacted your members of Congress, please
do so in the coming week.
For local discussion on this and
other legislative advocacy topics, consider joining the BCMS
Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee by contacting Mary Nava.
