TMA offers help regarding CMS' release of
Medicare payment data
Earlier this week, the
Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released their
Medicare payment data.
CMS gave the public unprecedented
access to physician payments and charges for services and
procedures provided to Medicare beneficiaries. The CMS online database
contains information on more than 880,000 physicians and other
healthcare professionals who collectively received $77 billion in
Medicare Part B payments in 2012.
Texas Medical Association (TMA)
has compiled background information and answers to frequently asked
questions to assist physician members in responding to patients and
the public regarding the CMS data.
