Important updates
for primary care physicians
eligible for Medicaid pay increase
TMHP began issuing supplemental payments May 7
By Mary E. Nava, MBA
Chief Governmental and Community Relations
Officer
As authorized by the Affordable
Care Act, Medicaid payments increased to Medicare parity for
E&M services as well as vaccine administration services
provided by pediatricians, family physicians, general internists,
including each of their respective subspecialists for claims
submitted between Jan. 1, 2013, and Dec. 31, 2014.
Only those physicians who have
attested as to their eligibility may receive the higher
payments. Additionally, for physicians who attested prior to
the April 1 deadline, they are eligible for payments retroactive to
Jan. 1, 2013. Attestations submitted after the deadline will
receive payments only for claims submitted after April 1, 2014.
As there are other regulations
that apply, please read the information here to familiarize yourself with the
various ACA regulations as they pertain to these Medicaid
fee-for-service claims.
