Payers are evolving -- creating new
products and experimenting with new physician relationships.
They may even be interested in talking to you about something other
than cutting fee-for-service rates!
This would be a good week to
contact your top payers to ask them about opportunities to partner in
any of these new initiatives. Some are really working better
for physicians, patients and payers.

TMA needs your help to develop the new Physician
Services Organization (PSO)
REGISTER NOW for conference call focus groups taking
place Sept. 17-18
By Mary E. Nava, MBA
BCMS Chief Governmental and
Community Relations Officer
As you are now aware, TMA
recently launched a new Physician Services Organization (PSO),
which will offer members access to essential tools that will help
physicians effectively navigate and compete in the rapidly changing
healthcare environment.
The PSO, a physician-led
organization, is being designed to help practices of all sizes in a
variety of areas key to the management of the practice and the
delivery of health care to patients.
TMA is now calling on physician
members to participate in conference call focus groups to provide
feedback and help design the PSO. The conference call focus groups,
which are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 17, and Wednesday, Sept. 18,
are limited to 25 physician participants. To learn more about the
PSO and to register for the upcoming focus groups, please click on this link.
For local discussion on this and other practice
management topics, consider joining the BCMS Legislative and
Socioeconomics Committee by contacting Mary Nava at mary.nava@bcms.org.
