Red tape comes

in small pieces

By John K. Wisniewski

BCMS CEO/Executive Director

In addition to broader legislative issues, this year's agenda is focused on "red tape reduction." We are looking for small, steady aggravations, with corresponding solutions to eliminate them.

A TMA campaign already gathered a list, but you are still encouraged to submit ideas either to the TMA Red Tape Hassle log, through a resolution, or simply by email.

Small victories are often forgotten, but they remain a meaningful part of the value we create together.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
TO BCMS MEMBERS

Because of recent events, we believe it necessary to clarify the relationship between BCMS and the BCMS Foundation.

Please note that the BCMS Foundation is no longer affiliated or associated

with BCMS in any manner.

Each is a separate, free-standing organization with no affiliation with the

other. Relations between the two organizations have been severed. The Foundation has a completely

separate board and staff, and no longer has offices at BCMS. There is no connection of any nature between the two organizations. The similarity of the Foundation's name with that of BCMS may create

confusion or mislead people into thinking there is some connection with BCMS, but there is not.

ARE YOU ACCEPTING

NEW PATIENTS?

In 2010, BCMS conducted a survey of Bexar County physicians to identify which physicians were accepting new patients.

With access to healthcare being at the forefront and the Texas legislature now under way, BCMS wants to update this information so we can better advocate on your behalf.

If you haven't already, please click here to complete a short, one-minute survey.

Each year, BCMS receives more than 10,000 requests from patients looking for physicians who accept their insurance. Let us help them find you! Click here to review your profile on Find a Doctor on the BCMS website.

Thank you very much for your assistance with this important project!
