You have more time to decide whether to participate in
Medicare
Deadline extended to Jan. 31
By Mary E. Nava, MBA
BCMS Chief Governmental and Community Relations
Officer
CMS has announced an extension to
the Medicare participation deadline to Jan. 31, due to their delay
in releasing the 2014 physician fee schedule. The original deadline
was Dec. 31.
So you now have more time to
determine if you wish to participate. If you already
participate in Medicare and wish to continue to do so, no further
action is required. For a full explanation of the CMS
requirements and options for signing on to participate or to opt out
of the program, click here.
For local discussion on these
and other practice management topics, consider joining the BCMS
Legislative and Socioeconomics Committee by contacting
Mary Nava.
