BCMS
launches Public Health and Patient Advocacy initiative
By
John K. Wisniewski
BCMS
CEO/Executive Director
The BCMS Public Health and Patient
Advocacy Committee is focusing attention on cardiometabolic disease
and diabetes.
Rather than creating new
infrastructure, the specific goal is to increase involvement of BCMS
leaders in policy development for existing initiatives and encourage
visible member support.
This would be a good week to
consider how you and your practice can set an example and encourage
San Antonio to get moving. The city is busily improving
sidewalks, creating open spaces and even promoting a new sport called
RoTenGo. To learn more, click here.
Stay tuned as we continue to
provide information and ideas to help lead our community to better
health. As trusted leaders, you can make a difference.

This is a friendly reminder to
all members that June 30 is the deadline to report e-prescribing
(using the G8553 code) on at least 10 Medicare claims in order to
avoid the 2014 penalty.
Please note that in addition,
there are a number of other incentives, deadlines and qualifying
criteria for Medicare Part B claims and applying for the Medicare
EHR.
TMA provides a number of
resources to help you sift through the myriad of requirements and
deadlines. For more information, click here.
For local discussion on this and other medical
practice topics, consider joining the BCMS Legislative
