Draft
proposal
would
repeal SGR
By
John K. Wisniewski
BCMS
CEO/Executive Director
Leaders of the U.S. House Energy
and Commerce Committee released the framework of a plan that, in
their words, "would repeal SGR and, in return, replace it with
an improved fee for service system in which providers develop quality
measures that will lead to better care in a more efficient
manner."
Two Texas congressmen -- Energy and
Commerce Health Subcommittee Vice Chairman Michael Burgess, MD
(R-Lewisville), and Ways and Means Health Subcommittee Chairman Kevin
Brady (R-The Woodlands) -- have played major roles in drafting
this legislation.
This would be a good week to read the document.
Keeping abreast of the direction of
these important changes will help position your practice for
the future.

Located in the Texas Hill Country

of Austin, Joshua Creek Ranch occupies a uniquely diverse terrain
including miles of Joshua Creek and Guadalupe River bottomland

habitat; bordered by limestone bluffs that rise to oak- and
elm-studded pastures lush with prairie grasses providing perfect
quail hunting cover; and densely wooded areas conducive to Texas
deer hunting, both whitetail and axis.
Open throughout the year, Joshua
Creek Ranch's hunting season from October through March is
complemented by year-round sporting clays, Texas fly-fishing for
rainbow trout November through May, and spring-summer activities
