Board of Ethics

The BCMS Board of Ethics upholds the highest standards of medical ethics among its members. It provides guidance to individual physicians when needed, reviews membership applications, investigates potential code of conduct violations, and takes appropriate action when necessary. The board also evaluates complaints of unethical conduct submitted by members and ensures proper resolution.

Additionally, the Board of Ethics investigates and mediates complaints from patients and insurance companies against BCMS members. It addresses issues related to unprofessional conduct, violations of medical ethics, and patient-physician relationships. The board also reviews insurance-related concerns and monitors the ethical conduct of members while considering public complaints.

Unless additional business arises, membership applications are reviewed and approved or disapproved via email each month. The board meets as needed.
